Slat Geometry for Rolling Shutter Curtains

The profile geometry determines how individual slats connect and move when the door is rolled onto the shaft. A typical section may contain a curved surface, hook edge, hinge-like connection, reinforcement rib, and end return.

During forming, these areas are developed in sequence. The early forming stages establish the main body of the slat, while later stations create the connecting edges and final curvature. Maintaining the correct relationship between the upper and lower locking sections is particularly important because excessive variation can affect curtain assembly and rolling movement.

Stable Interlocking for Door Curtain Assembly

The connection between adjacent shutter slats is one of the most important features of a roll-up door profile. Each section needs to engage with the neighboring section while still allowing the curtain to articulate as it travels around the rolling shaft.

For this reason, the forming rolls are designed to control the hook, lip, or interlocking edge with appropriate dimensional consistency. The machine can also be equipped with profile guides that support the section after the final forming stage and help prevent unwanted twisting before cutting.

Depending on the product structure, additional operations can be incorporated for ventilation slots, fixing holes, end-lock preparation, or other features required before curtain assembly.
