C-Profile Roll Forming Machine

C-Profile Roll Forming Machine

The C-Profile Roll Forming Machine is designed to continuously manufacture C-shaped steel profiles from metal coil. The finished sections can be used as structural members, framing channels, purlins, support rails, partition components, equipment frames, and other applications where an open C-section is required.
The profile can be produced with different web heights, flange widths, return lips, reinforcing ribs, and punched openings. The forming line is configured according to the actual cross-section and material specification, allowing the machine to handle both light-gauge framing profiles and heavier structural sections.

Description
Technical Parameters

Hangzhou IUWON Technology Co., Ltd. is one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of c-profile roll forming machine in China. With abundant experience, we warmly welcome you to buy custom made c-profile roll forming machine from our factory. Good service and reasonable price are available.

C-Profile Structure & Size Options

A C profile mainly consists of a web and two flanges. Depending on the application, the flange edges can remain open or be folded inward to create return lips.

For structural applications, the web depth and flange geometry are selected according to the required section characteristics. For framing and mounting applications, additional slots or holes can be incorporated into the profile.

C-Profile Parameters

Parameter Typical Range
Material Carbon Steel / Galvanized Steel / Stainless Steel
Material Thickness 0.8–4.0 mm
Web Height 40–300 mm
Flange Width 20–100 mm
Return Lip 10–40 mm
Coil Width According to Profile
Yield Strength ≤ 550 MPa
Forming Speed 6–20 m/min
Forming Stations 12–28
Shaft Diameter 60–100 mm
Main Motor 11–30 kW
Drive Type Gearbox
Cutting Hydraulic / Flying
Length Measurement Encoder
Control System PLC + HMI

The final dimensions are determined from the C-section drawing. Increasing the web depth, flange width, or material thickness may require additional forming capacity and a different roller arrangement.

Punched C Profiles for Assembly

Many C profiles are not used as isolated structural members. They are connected to brackets, fasteners, panels, frames, or other profiles, making the hole pattern an important part of the finished product.

The production line can incorporate punching before roll forming. The flat strip is positioned by a servo feeder, and the required holes or slots are created before the material enters the forming stations.

Common processing patterns include:

Round bolt holes

Elongated slots

Repeated mounting holes

Bracket openings

Connection slots

End holes

Custom hole combinations

Punching & Forming Configuration

Production Unit Configuration
Decoiler Manual / Hydraulic
Coil Capacity 3–10 Tons
Leveling 5–7 Roller
Servo Feeding Optional
Punching Hydraulic / Servo
Entry Guide Adjustable
Forming Stands 12–28
Lip Forming Optional
Rib Forming Optional
Cut-Off Hydraulic / Flying
Measuring Encoder
Run-Out Table 4–8 m
Stacking Manual / Automatic
Operation PLC + Touchscreen

The punching program can be synchronized with the feeding distance, allowing the machine to maintain a specified hole pitch along the complete profile.

C-Profile Applications

The finished sections can be adapted to different construction and industrial applications.

Structural Framing
Deeper C sections can be used as secondary framing members, support sections, and structural channels. The profile dimensions and steel thickness can be selected according to the required structural design.

Light-Gauge Framing
Thin-wall C profiles can be used in partition frames, wall systems, ceiling structures, and other lightweight assemblies.

Purlin & Support Members
C-shaped sections can serve as roof and wall support members where the open section provides convenient connection surfaces.

Equipment Frames
C profiles with pre-punched holes can be used as mounting rails, machine supports, equipment frames, and fabricated structures.

Solar Mounting Structures
Galvanized C sections can be manufactured with repeated connection openings for mounting and structural assembly.

Customized C-Profile Production

C profiles with similar names can have completely different cross-sections. A 100 mm C section for light framing is fundamentally different from a 100 mm heavy-gauge structural member.

For this reason, the machine should be designed around the actual profile drawing rather than simply selecting equipment according to the nominal profile size.

FAQ

Can the machine be made according to our C-profile drawing?
Yes. The roller tooling and forming sequence can be developed according to the required web, flange, lip, rib, and edge dimensions.

Can the C profile have inward return lips?
Yes. Additional roller stations can be arranged to gradually form inward or outward lips.

Can reinforcing ribs be added to the web?
Yes. Longitudinal ribs or embossed reinforcement sections can be incorporated when required by the profile design.

Can the machine produce pre-punched C profiles?
Yes. A servo or hydraulic punching system can be integrated for holes, slots, and repeated connection patterns.

Can different sizes be produced on the same machine?
This depends on the size range. Similar C profiles may use interchangeable tooling, while profiles with substantially different dimensions normally require separate roller sets.

Can it process 3–4 mm steel?
Yes, with a machine specifically designed for heavier material. The shaft diameter, roller stands, bearings, transmission, and drive motor must be selected for the specified gauge and material strength.

Can galvanized steel be used?
Yes. The forming rolls and material guides can be configured for coated steel to help reduce unnecessary surface damage during production.

What information is required for machine customization?
The key information includes the C-profile drawing, web height, flange width, lip dimensions, material thickness, steel grade, hole pattern, finished length, and required production speed.

Can additional products be made later?
Yes, provided the additional profiles are technically compatible with the machine platform. Separate roller tooling can be supplied for other C-section sizes or related profiles.
